Contrary to popular opinion, the greatest wants of college freshmen is not more money from home, mom to sneak in and wash the laundry or a roommate who loves to cook and clean.

What college freshmen want more than anything is:

1. to be prepared for the work place. From students who scored below 1000 on SAT to those who scored about 1500, they all want the same -

  a. access to internships

  b. quality career office

  c. placement record with employers.

2. a quality academic program - students want

  a. interaction with the faculty,

  b. experiential learning

  c. learning communities.

3. Affordability - thank goodness some of them are considering what it cost mom and pop.

College freshmen are looking for faculty that will get down and dirty with them, to introduce them to possible jobs, at a price they can afford.

What's wrong with that?
