
Japanese schools like to take their high-schoolers overseas for trips - to study, to experience, to play, just for the fun of it under the guise of educational objectives.
Some destinations are more popular than others for Japanese.
According to the Ministry of Education, here are the top seven destination:![]()
7. South Korea - 3.5% You can get to Seoul in a couple of hours
6. China - 4.7% - about 2 hours to northern China
5. U.K. - 9.9% - a long time
4. Canada - 10.4%
3. New Zealand - 12.4%
2. U.S.A. - 21.3%
1. Australia - 31%
Yep, more and more high school groups head down under...still 10+ hour plane ride away.
