The group wanted members of their club to pledge faith in Jesus Christ.
However, To register as a student group, a student organization had to fill out a form stating "membership and all privileges, including voting and officer positions, must be extended to all students, without regard to age, ethnicity, gender,
So, UGA turned down the group.
However, a university rep says the college is discussing - "an exception to religious discrimination (that) could be put into place much like an exception to gender discrimination is in place for same-sex social fraternities and sororities."
This makes sense to me. Why can't Christians get together and say we all want to be Christians. Why would non-christians care? Why would non-christians want to be part of the group anyway? I can't imagine Christians crying foul because they can't join a gay group?
But, then I could be wrong.
What do you think?
