The question is - Who's responsible for paying a child's college education?

2. 38% - his/her family
3. 29% - the student

Let's see...if the government pays for it, that means the parents are going to have to pay more taxes to cover those costs.
That would make the first two combined to be 61%.
The student can pay for it, but chances are they will call home for a loan that doesn't get paid, or come home on weekends to eat, wash clothes and such....we'll call that parents covering half the costs...to make it 71%.
The way I look at it, and I selected it's the child's responsibility, the parents will ultimately get stuck with paying for all or most of the college bill.
As for me...I was the fifth of six kids and my parents did not have the funds. I paid ALL of my tuition, but lived at home...so...go figure.
Mom and dad are stuck if the kids want to continue to study.
What do you think?

Well, ideally it should be a little of everything. Scholarships and loans might be the student's responsibility (or in part, the govt). But hopefully the parents will be able to chip in a little, or have the foresight to contribute to a education plan or fund (which are a great deal).
