Ted Demopoulos owns a consulting firm, Demopoulos Associates. He has advised IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola and Cisco, among a bus load of others.
The list is his and Kaplan Publishing's and comes from his new book - What No One EVER Tells You About Blogging and Podcasting. To read about all of the above...buy the book
The order above is the order of appearance in Ted's book.
Full disclosure - I get NOTHING from the sales of Ted's book.
The reader gets a LOT.
One more thing....
Do you think your blog belongs on the list of successful blogs?
If so, send me a link and tell me why.
Hint, your explanation of why carries more weight than just a link that sends me wading through your blog to find something to read. I am much more likely to look to see if your why matches your what.
Enjoy!

As number six on the list I have two complaints:
First, Ted originally wanted to interview me on the phone but I refused, insisting we meet at a Bar or it was no-go. Ted eventually agreed, but once AT the bar he ate more than half of the boneless chicken wings.
Second, use of the word "successful" in reference to my blog MUST violate some sort of truth in advertising law...

Honored to be on the list.
The power of blogs to start conversations and enlarge them continues to amaze me.
Keep creating,

Thanks for including me Bill. Very kind of you to take the time to put together the list.
I actually bribed Ted with chicken wings to be mentioned in his book. It is his currency.

I belong on your list. I was interviewed for chapter 68 of "What No One Ever Tells You..." because of my association with Robyn Tippins, Dennis MacDonald and Jeremiah Owyang. I talked to Ted about the importance of passion and sharing with others.
I'm a security podcaster who happened to see a thread on a mailing list and sent out a call to see who wanted to talk about it on a podcast. Dennis, Robyn and Jeremiah responded, along with Dan Sweet. One podcast turned into several and the group of us have been friends ever since.

I'm going to stick my neck out before someone else in education does. I can always apologise later ;-) My blog is one of the most popular blogs talking about blogging and its applications in education and in educational management. It's having some effect, too, in the areas in Scotland where people read it, notably East Lothian where I work.
There. I did it. Shameless plug that it is. Will I ever be forgiven? ;-)

Kind of puts the whole thing into a non-bubble, real-world perspective, doesn't it?

Thanks for including my blog amongst the great ones. It's quite a grouping Ted managed to talk to about this wonderful book.
To respond to one of your anonymous commenters:
While many of what these bloggers talked about for the book was about blogging, as one commenter said, if you change the perspective and move it to the offline world, things are just as effective and impactful. Blogs are just the medium, not the message.

Thanks for compiling this list from Ted's book, and for including me in the 66. I've appreciated this traffic bonus, and even added a few subscribers.
As one of the bloggers who writes on a "non-blogging" topic (rural small business), I've put a link to the relevant post on my home page so folks can find it.

I'm still impressed with the list, but did have a couple notes about it after poking deeper.
#7 Dave Taylor is a blog I've bumped into before and have a very hard time find any value from whatsoever. He does generically present himself as a supposed "expert" on all topics, but the veil is very thin. I don't find any sustainable model to follow or any good advice to be found there.
#38 Chris Garrett should be removed bcause that blog/group is defunct.
#43 Paul Short should be removed because that blog is dead.

I'm so glad that I came across your site to help promote it. You have alot of information on this site to get through, but I was wondering if you could check it out and give me a summary of how to drive traffic to it faster. (To monetize it through adsense).
Or is that advice part of your paid consultation? If so, please let me know your rates. Thanks.

Hi. I'm #4 on the list of 66 (which is not a merit ranking by the way) and #8 in the Demopoulos book. My web site is about humor and never features the subject of blogging. Here's a brief review of what I've learned since the interview for Ted's book.
Title this post: Blog Lessons From a Novice. A year ago I was averaging 200 daily visitors and I didn't know anything about traffic statistics or search engine rankings. Thanks to my blog, the past week I've had 1200 daily visitors to my web site. Some brief lessons:
1. Steady posting to the blog maintains momentum.
2. Offline and online efforts have little connection.
3. Contests attract readers.
4. Write new posts with links to previous posts. Prevent articles on the shelf from gathering dust.
5. Cross promote your blog and ezine.
6. Life is a writing school. I've learned to enjoy writing and am surprised at the places I find inspiration.
7. I'm just now starting to actively promote my blog. It's the next step beyond maintaining momentum.

Web - A huge Junk yard - Thanks to google and it advertising concept.
The whole purpose of search engine is defied due to this quick money making scheme. Its come to a point where we search for "Star Gazing" in google and we get search results with almost 4-5 blogspot urls in the first page. and all these blogs are optimised to this keyword but none of them speaks about it.
Is it what we expect from a search engine like Google??

Italian soccer league, local time on the 18th carried out eight games, the recent poor performance of the AC Milan beat Roma 2-1, wow goldwhile Sampdoria team returned to a 1:1 draw against Lazio.
AC Milan team is currently in the standings with 12 points came in the first 8-bit, than the wow gold"leader" Inter Milan behind seven points, while Roma is more worrying, merely 11 points behind 11th place.10.20C

Make your blog comment section into ‘dofollow.”
By default, the wordpress comment section is ‘nofollow,’ meaning that when someone places their link in your blogs comments section, it passes no pagerank.
This really is a debatable point, and what you do will depend on your business model. By turning your blogs comment section into a ‘dofollow’ you will attract a lot more comments, while giving away pagerank at the same time.
For my business model, this is a “dofollow’ blog for my comments because I am more concerned about relationships than about pagerank. I feel that the benefits far exceed the negatives.
