
Chrysler's chief economist launched a fierce attack on "quasi-hysterical Europeans" and their "Chicken Little" attitudes to global warming.
Ford's chief economist and GM's chief economist did not question his assertions, nor did the many parts suppliers who sat nodding in agreement.
The economist called Europeans' attitudes toward global warming "absurd." Global warming was "far-off risk whose magnitude was uncertain."![]()
DaimlerChrysler's economist visciously (for an economist) attacked the economist who wrote the "Stern Report" which was recently published by the UK government - he called it 'dubious economics, that did not include a discount rate and was written by an advisor.'
His own DaimlerChrysler office in Stuttgart supports the "quasi-hysterical" policies that smacked of "Chicken Little" politics, he said.
The economist is right. Global warming advocates are alarmists.
Cars should be made 'green.' Fossil fuels should be preserved. Alternative energy methods should be explored. Recycling should be a mandate.
But Global Warming is NOT the reason. Conservation is. Respect for the planet is.
The global warming advocates are missing the big picutre.
