Covering the business of education and training

Macao will implement a program that gives 15 years of free education to all of its kids - kindergarten through high school.

About 80,000 of the 92,254 school students attending 60 private schools will benefit from the new system.

Macao's government will also give homework to school officials - use $175 million to improve school facilties and their services.

I reckon all that income Macao is getting from gambling revenues is being put to good use.

Of course, in time, the money will need to be redirected to keeping crime down, handling gambling abusers, fighting prostitution and everything else that follows casinos.

Is the trade off worth it?
