Four countries, France, Italy, South Korea and Pakistan are planning to establish four new engineering universities in the south province of Sindh, Pakistan.
The cost will be about $2.33 billion.
Three of the universities will be in Karachi and one will be set up at Jamshoro.
Pakistan's Sindh provincial government will provide the land and the Higher Education Commission will bear the cost of the infrastructure.
It will take 7-8 years for the universities to be fully functional.
Faculty will come from the partner universities at first and then from alumni.
The whole plan seems good...until the part where they will hire alumni to fill faculty positions.
I think ALL faculty should have some practical world experience in their field before they teach. A faculty member must be able to relate to the students how the content of their classes will make an impact in the way the individual will live their life.
What do you think?
