So, what's a kid to do?
1. Talk to the guidance counselor at school. High school guidance offices should have web-based programs that help the student make comparisons.
2. College Board offers College matchmaker, Princeton Review offers counselor-o-matic, and USNEWS offers
3. You can pony up $120/hr for a private counselor or contact me...and I'll help you out for half that.
4. You can try an online counselor - Destination-U is an eHarmony for colleges and students.
5. The student and the parent can reach the decision together.
How did you decide on the school where you/your student is attending?
