The idea - teach kids about healthy and unhealthy relationships.
Some alarming facts:
1. About 30% of high school girls fear physical harm from their partner when in a serious relationship.
2. The same percentage say they were forced into an unwanted sex act.
Abuse can come in many forms:
3. One in four teens said they've been harassed, called names and emotionally abused via cellphone text messages.
4. One in 10 said their partner has posted humiliating pictures or videos to online sites. How about not doing humiliating things?
5. Forty-eight percent believe computers and cellphones make abuse easier to conceal from others, including parents.
6. One in three teens said text messages about 'where are you', 'what are you doing' and 'who are you with' were sent as many as 30 times an hour.
The 'victim' may not always be totally innocent but, there is no excuse for using a stronger position to take advantage of the weaker side.
This is a course that not only high schoolers but EVERYBODY should be required to get an "A" in.
Have you ever had to endure abuse?
