Toot! Toot! Toot!
That's me blowing my horn.
There is, of course, many things that are right with college sports.
I am hanging out in Chicago at the Horizon League Division I swim championships.
My son is participating...yea! 
In the first three days of competition his relay team placed first and third in two events. He placed third and sixth in two individual events and set PRs.
He will swim two more events and his team will likely win the conference championship.
Teamwork, companionship, comraderie, commitment, work ethic, character development, physical growth, mental and spiritual growth, and a smile as wide as the pool when he improved on his best.....
These are just some of the things that make college sports excellent.
Oh, and the fact that the school is footing the bill for my son's education in and OUT of the pool is a bonus.
