Student athletes were hired and paid too much to do too little just so there would be enough student athletes participating.
Women's basketball...women's ice hockey, baseball, softball, lacrosse, wrestling.
The men were guilty as well.
An assistant coordinator of the work-study program hired too many kids and paid them double time just to ensure an adequate number of student-athletes reported to work.
The students were not totally guilt free...they attended class, went home, to practice, ate while they were 'on the clock.'
Division III schools don't give scholarships, so the students didn't get hit in that department.
The assistant coordinator were suspended for one-week without pay, and given oral and written reprimands. I wonder... is that all?
College sports is at its worse when the people the kids trust in lie to them and use them to cheat, and the kids go along.
What do you think is wrong with college sports?
