Covering the business of education and training

An MIT stem cell scientist was denied tenure. What color he is or isn't should be of no consequence, though news reports often find it necessary to point it out. That to me is another issue.

The professor asked, "How can we accept that we have so many well-trained people and so few are tenured?"

He went on...and these are NOT the words of wisdumb..."What I have discussed here is that if you are ......, part of a ..... (my deletions) group, it is acceptable for you to have insufficient lab space ... and it is allowable for your accomplishments to be ignored."

So, he pledged to go on a hunger striked and stand outside the president/provost's office everyday from 9-12, until his demands are met.

Does this seem remotely similar to the little boy who holds his breath?

Fine...he'll pass out and then sooner or later recover...or not.

Let the man go hungry. Wouldn't bother me. When he gets hungry...he'll eat.

My dad used to say to me when I turned my nose up at something my mom made that I didn't like...if he gets hungry enough, he will eat 'em. Yup, I ate or went to bed hungry.

I know why the man probably didn't get tenure.....he's too childish.
