At a house party, about 50 students, including 8 baseball players from De Anza College's baseball team, did what kids do these days...at least some kids...drank until they vomited and someone got raped.
A 17-year old girl showed up at a hospital saying someone had their way with her at the party.
The school, rightfully, suspended the ballplayers pending the outcome of the investigation.
The college president is 'shocked and appalled.'
Meanwhile a 17-year old girl has bee done seriously wrong.
Police are hoping for someone to come forward to tell them what went on. Chances are, the other 40+ people were too drunk to remember.
So, where were the parents of these kids who hosted this house party? Who's house was it held at?
Let's put them on the list of people to be held responsible, then see if someone comes forward.
The rape is wrong. Allowing the kids to create an atmosphere where this kind of wrongdoing will go on is nearly just as wrong.
Should people who play host to a party that gets out of hand be held partly responsible for what goes on?

I am being drawn in more and more by your questions Bill. Way to prompt discussion! To answer this one: yes I think the students who hosted the party should be held responsible and my first thought was that the host house owners should be as well. However I can't make that leap yet; there are still so many unanswered questions. For example: were the owneres of the house home (I doubt it), how many of the party goers were under-age (I'd bet more than half), who purchased the alcohol (there may have been a liquor cabinet)...the list goes on. Someone will be held responsible but like the guy said in the article, all judgement should be reserved until after the facts come out. Bill, I'm looking for you to keep me updated on this story. :D
