Is there a teacher who hasn't had eyes for a student?  How many teachers, professors, pastors for that matter, do you know who have married a student or a member of the group they taught or were responsible for?

An assistant professor at Nagoya University's Graduate School of Bioagricultural Sciences let his eyes and desires get the best of him.

When the student complained to the university's sexual harassment office the professor got called in...and disciplined..15 day suspension.

Japan as a whole seems to be far behind other developed countries in determining what constitutes sexual harassment and what is not. The country doesn't even have its own word for the violation. Sekuhara is borrowed from English.

I was surprised to read the Nagoya school even had such an office.

15 days!? The details of the harassment were not made known...but 15 days?  Hardly seems like it will make much difference.

The assistant professor apologized to the girl as did the university as a whole.
