The new president of CEC worked as senior VP of Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co, spent 13 years at Proctor & Gamble and became an executive for Abbott Laboratories.
Now, he will head up the for profit edcuational institution.
Is it me or is there a connection missing here?
CEC has been taking some hits:
1. Federal investigations for falsifying student records to boost enrollment and job-placement stats
2. Disputes about federal financial aid...CEC returned $500K to the Education department
3. Attacks on the integrity of the former CEO by a shareholder who had sold his company to CEC in exchange for stocks
4. Probation for one of its largest money makers - American Intercontinental University
5. 60 Minutes attacked the school that kicked off CEC's growth - Brooks College
6. And now CEC is trying to sell of some of its schools - Brooks College in Long Beach and Sunnyvale, and the Kathryn Gibbs schools.
And, they bring in a businessman to fix it?!
CEC needs someone who knows business AND education...business AND education...not just one or the other.
I don't have high hopes for the company. How about you?
