Harvard's 7,000 some full-time instructors who teach the school's medical students in classrooms do so for about $30/hr.
That's pretty cheap, if you ask me, even for an adjunct.
Harvard plans to/hopes to/has a goal of paying the men and women $100 an hour to teach = to the amount a primary care doctor makes.
Now tell me, why don't all schools pay their teachers more? And, in turn, raise the level of education that is going on.![]()
Doctors don't want to teach for $30/hr when they can treat patients for an hour and make three times that. Gee, go figure.
Is there a connection with why there aren't other quality people leading our classrooms? Taking nothing away from those who are giving it their all now.
Schools should be castles and the teachers should be paid like royalty. Students would be anxious to get there each day and then have the the best lining up to take a shot at teaching them.
I hope Harvard's move starts something?
Do you think our teachers are underpaid and are facilities are below quality?
