Japanese Elementary School Kids Least Motivated
The Japan Youth Research Institute asked 5200 children, 4th - 6th grade, in Tokyo, Beijing and Seoul what they thought of the future....probably singing Que Sara (sp?) while they did.

Japanese children were the least motivated of the bunch.

Just 48% of of students in Tokyo said they wanted to study hard for the future compared to more than 70% for Chinese and South Korean kids.

Almost 80% of kids in China and South Korea said they wanted to perform well acadmically in prepration for later on.japanese.students.JPG

57% of Japanese children said, "Study? What's that?"

The post war Japanese parents busted their tails off so their children wouldn't have to work as hard and could have an easier life.

Guess what...Japanese children don't work as hard and don't want to work as hard...and have an easier life.

Do you think Chinese and South Korean children will feel the same in another generation or so?
