Press release: "Following the completion of a thorough and deliberate review process, The Jewish Theological Seminary has decided, effective immediately, to accept qualified gay and lesbian students into its rabbinical and cantorial schools."
I don't know which end of the spectrum this particular seminary is on Jewish liberal and conservative issues, but it seems to me that if a person is gay or lesbian, they would not be qualified from the get go. No?
What will these future rabbis have to say about Sodom and Gomorrah? And what about the laws against homosexuals in the Books of Moses?
The "christian" church in the broadest sense has no right to cast stones. Gays and Lesbians are permitted to act as priest, priestesses, preachers and preacherettes?
I don't think Moses would be happy with this decision.
But then it doesn't seem to matter to many people what the Bible writers thought anymore, does it?
