This doesn't make a lot of sense if you think about it too hard. Consider yourself forewarned.
The operator of a pre-school in Manila took an Uzi Assault rifle, a revolver and two grenades as well as food and water for two days, a bus load of kids...a literal bus load...32 kids in all, hostage for 10 hours.
His demands: "to call the attention of the Filipino people to open their minds to the political reality." Whatever that might mean.
The parents said about the man: "I know him as a very good man. I know he will not harm my six-year-old daughter" and "In our own eyes, he's a real hero. He has
been helping a lot of people in our community without expecting anything in return."
The kids, bless their little hearts, "waved when the bus curtains were pulled back, and ice cream was seen being delivered to the bus by a policeman."
So, um, what was the guy planning on doing with the Uzi, revolver and grenades is what we are left to wonder?
Who was he going to shoot if his demands were not met? is another legitimate question?
Apparently the Robin Hood wannabe took two priests hostage using fake grenades about 20 years ago in a row over a building contract. No charges were filed then....
Robin Hoods....love 'em or hate 'em. What do you think?
