College students in Guangzhou have found a new way to find a date...learn who has the same kind of pet...lizard, hamsters, scorpions, turtles and snakes....no, it's not dinner, though all of those could be found on most any menu in southern Chinese restaurants.
The new fad among college students is to keep their pets on campus.
"Snake boy" keeps 10 pet snakes. He had to give up keeping his lizards and scorpions because they took too much time to care for...bringing his grades down.
Still, he wonders why no sweet young thing wants to see his collection of snakes. Go figure.![]()
One teacher at South China Normal (as opposed to abnormal) University warns, "The students must keep a balance between taking care of pets and their studies, and they should be aware of possible health risks of keeping pets, too." Really now.
So, what ever happened to meeting people in a park while walking your dog?
"Hey wanna see my turtle catch this frisbee?"
