The Stanford swim team has won the last 26 Pac-10 Championships....a record indeed, for the books.
However, athletes who got on the wrong side of the coach found themselves and their records erased from Stanford's multi-media guide, apparently because they got on the wrong side of the head coach.
In the end, however, the coach realized his misdeed.
"I wish to apologize for a serious mistake in judgment on my part. To exclude these five student-athletes from our media guide was an error, and it will be corrected immediately."
My son is a swimmer for a Division I school. One of his best friends swims for the Stanford team now. It's true...coaches and athletes at that level often don't see eye to eye.![]()
However, Stanford's coach showed class with his apology, that he is human in his mistake and why his team is number one as they chased their 27th straight championship this year.
Do you think an apology is enough in this case?
