What puts the class in world class?
I love this story...a famous athlete, second only to Yao Ming in popularity in China, is doing his utmost to help a female grad student who has been diagnosed with leukemia to secure the phones for a bone marrow transfusion.
Liu Xiang is not only the world record holder in the hurdles, he is also working to save the world for Wang Hongli, a student of Liu's fromer teammate, a female hurdler, who now teaches at the university. She has leukemia.
A bone marrow match has been found, but 300,000 yuan ($40K) is needed for the treatment.
Students have donated, the university has donated...and more money is coming in as a result of his appeal.
Liu's former teammate, now teacher says of the grad student, ""Wang Hongli is an excellent student but from a poor family. She used to be the only hope in her family, but now the disease has come like a disaster to them."

A world class athlete is trying to make a world of a difference, make that a lifetime difference in another person's life.
