"When you take into consideration the students' psychology it seems reasonable that a man or woman with a scar 3.3 cm (1.5 inch) or more on their face should NOT be employed as a teacher."
Is what an article in a Chinese southern newspaper, Sichuan Daily, says.
"...a good looking teacher can play down the possibility of students' pressure and anxiousness, which is better for their growing up."
Uh...okay, what is good looking? I don't have a scar on my face, but I am definitely not good looking. And some of the teachers, make that all of them, were nothing to write home about.
I guess I couldn't get a job in China as a teacher....unless it were online.
It seems that in Guangdong province:
1. Morality
2. Knowledge
3. Ability
4. Enthusiasm
5. Child management
6. Passion
7. Experience
8. Desire
9. Education
10. Willingness to work long hours and get nothing for it....
mean nothing...if you are scarred and ugly.
At least we know Al Pacino will never show up to teach. Whew!
How many of your teachers would have been fired for being ugly?
