When lawyers can't get things straight, we're in trouble. Okay...we are already in trouble no matter when lawyers are involved.
The chief prosecutor had these words of wisdumb for the district judge - his client "claimed a unicorn was driving when his truck crashed into a light pole earlier this month."
A unicorn?![]()
As it turns out, a deputy prosecutor did not know the term 'unicorn defense,' a slang term used by prosecutors when a defendant uses a far fetched explanation or person to explain their crime.
Imagine the hilarity in the courtroom...unless, of course, you are the driver who hit the pole and got to hoping the unicorn really was driving the truck when it crashed into a pole.
I wonder what other slang terms lawyers use to confuse people. They do pretty well even with 'regular' wording. Don't you think?
