Consequently, the teachers will offer up private lessons for 3,000 to 6,000 yen an hour.
Problem is...sometimes the lessons can get too private.
Recently a 22-year old English girl was killed after being lured into the home of the son of a wealthy doctor. The murderer is the object of a nationwide police hunt.
At my school, we got around this by
1. hiring 'less physically attractive' people....like me.
Still, not everyone has the benefit of being 'appearance challenged.'
Another way around it is
2. female teachers to give private lessons ONLY in public places....and their are LOTS of coffee shops in Japan
When its a male teacher...
3. Do NOT send a male teacher into a private man-o-woman teaching situation...period. It never turns out right.
In the 20 some odd years I operated a language school, I was the only one, that I know of, who got in trouble with a student, AFTER she stopped being a student, however.
Somebody should have made me obey my own rules.
What do you recommend to keep a private lesson from becoming too private?
