Isn't education always an issue?
You would think that for as long as education has been around, we'd get it right by now...still.
"Bill gates and Eli Broad announced today they will spend $60 million dollars to turn up the heat and force the presidential candidates to make education a major issue in the 2008 election."
They plan to spend the money on TV and radio ads to make sure education is high profile issue in the 2008 presidential race.
Wife, Melinda, says "she and her husband will be a thorn in the side of every presidential hopeful."
The Gates and Broad team have three goals:
1. better pay for better teachers
2. improving curriculum
3. more after school support for students.
Sounds good to me... Better if the candidates follow through on any promises they make.
Do you think it is right for this team to create an 'issue' in a presidential campaign?
