Sure seems like the suit was a long time coming.
The suit was first filed in October, 2004....5 years AFTER the fact.
The plaintiff said she was 'forced' by the prof who threatened her with a, get this, demotion of her fiance who worked in the same department.
The prof is 'categorically denying the allegations.'
I don't know what happened, but, dang it, I wonder why it took her five years to make the claim.
The court has sided with the plaintiff on the grounds that the young lady let the action be known to an acquaintance shortly after the incident and that the professor's alibi could not be trusted.
Let's see, we can't trust a professor of one of Japan's best universities, but we can trust a woman who told her friend and then waited five years to bring the incident to a court.
The court found the professor guilty.
Good grief.
I'd never take a girl with me anywhere if I were a professor again in Japan...but then...it'd be sexual discrimination.
Can't win for trying.
