Afraid of, well, who knows what he was afraid of, the boy recruited a friend and they collected all the newspapers that his name appeared in and burned them.
THAT became the big story. Now he is front page news for underage drinking and faces criminal charges, fines and discipline by campus officials.
3500 copies of newspapers, valued at around $2000 were stolen from dorms and academic buildings before they were taken to a party that ended in a bonfire.
The student is, soon to be was, a member of the Student Senate's ethics committee.
Apparently university newspaper theft is not uncommon with 40 some cases being reported nationwide this school year.
What would make you want to burn a school newspaper? And what could anybody possibly think they could accomplish by doing so?
