Police are trying to find the guy or girl who has made off with 19 pairs of shoes from five different nursery schools in Aichi prefecture, Japan.
The shoes went missing between Monday night and Tuesday morning from five schools all located within 5 kilometers, 3 miles of one another.
I stayed with a Chinese family for a while when I first moved to the Bay Area. We left our shoes parked outside the front door.
One morning, I woke up and my shoes were gone.
A bit perturbed at first, I soon concluded that if the guy needed the shoes bad enough that he wanted to steal them, then he likely needed them more than I did. If he had asked, I would have given them to him....or would I?
I hope the police ask the guy WHY he needed to steal 19 pairs of shoes from kids 3-5 years old.
