It's part of Toyota's T-TEp (Toyota Technical Training Program) for Chinese vocational schools, established in 1994.
It's a win-win situation for Toyota and vocational schools in China.
Toyota will be somewhat ensured that the carmaker has enough technicians who can repair Toyota cars IF they ever break down AND Chinese youth will have jobs waiting for them at world class company.
China has a goal of 8 million students in vocational middle schools by 2010 and a 6.53 million yuan scholarship program to support it.
Toyota won't need that many repairmen and women, I think, but other car makers will.
