When I was a college kid, and I am hoping the statute of limitations has expired on this, we use to climb up on Cincinnatus at 'Fountain Square' in downtown, you guessed it, Cincinnati.

It has been known, not by me, that some people also threw packets of jello into the water to change the color of the water spraying, shooting and swirling. It was quite pretty as well as illegal.

A couple of South Korean students have learned a third thing to not do in a fountain....sit next to it.

When the woman stuck her hand into the water, presumably to splash her sweetheart, she got shocked and fell in. (That'll teach her.) When the guy felt bad for her, he tried to pull her out and in he went, too.

Sounds like fun...but...

By the time security turned off the power to the pool both were already dead....electrocuted by a power leak.  Yikes!

Hongji Square, the home of the fountain, is located close to Baoshan campus of Shanghai University.

It's scary to think what might have been.
