The National Institute for International Education Development, affiliated with the Education Ministry, operates "English Program In Korea" to recruit, train and managing native English teachers for schools.
The hope is to recruit 500 teachers, from the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland, or England, to come...more than 4 times the number that were recruited in 2006.
The aim...."to better prepare students to compete in the globalized international stage by providing an enhanced level of English education."
For the teacher...a new perspective on life and a chance to bring something to their classroom, when/if, they return to their home country that cannot be learned in textbooks.
