The robbers got his Tracy McGrady basketball jersey, cell phone and wallet.
His family sued.
I think I get the part where the family wants something in exchange for their son's death. But, how do they, their lawyers, the school, anybody come up with a figure?
The school and the family 'settled' on $2.75 million, an annual full scholarship in the boy's name for the next five years...and a 'safer campus'.
The lawyers got their 40% or whatever and the insurance companies paid through the nose and raised premiums for the rest of us.
Seriously, how do they come up with a figure to determine the boy's worth?
My son is a college student and no amount of money can replace his loss.
The schools ought to be looking out for the safety of kids BEFORE someone is robbed of their t-shirt and shot.
Do you ever feel your campus is dangerous?
