Dutch researchers are saying that left handed women "have a higher risk of dying, particularly from cancer and cerebrovascular disease - damage to an artery in the brain or an artery that supplies blood to the brain."
The researchers followed 12,178 middle-aged women for 13 years...252 died.
Among those, left-handed women had:![]()
1. a 40% higher risk of dying from any cause,
2. a 70% higher risk of dying from cancer
3. a 30% risk of dying from circulatory diseases.
Twice as many left-handed women died from breast cancer. 5 times as many died from colorectal cancer and three times as many had a higher risk of cerebrovascular mortality.
The reason? Nobody knows.
But, it may answer the question of why parents used to make their kids use their right hands when they were little?
Truly conclusive results are still pending.
Do you worry about being left-handed?
