
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health's Center for Injury Research and Policy has determined that the more overweight a person is, the more likely they will be injured on the job.
7,690 workers were classified into six categories:
1. underweight![]()
2. normal
3. overweight
4. obesity level I
5. obesity level II
6. obesity level III.
29% of the workers were injured at least once between 1/2/02 and 12/31/04.
A whopping 85% of those injured were overweight or obese.
28% were overweight.
30% were in level I or II.
34% were in level III.![]()
The severely obese had the most injuries to their hand/wrist/fingers as well. (22%).
It seems to me some of these folk need that 'vertical workstation' created by the Mayo Clinic.
