I am sure we'll all be glad when the data base for the Wenzhou dialect is complete.

Huh?!

Two people for sure will be happy....the professor at Stanford who showed interest in a Wenzhou girl's research, and the young Wenzhou girl who had previously studied British and American Literature.

In fact, Stanford is so happy, the school has offered the young lady about $258,000 in scholarships to be used over 5 years to complete the study and earn her doctorate degree in a local dialect that nobody but the locals really care about.

I guess if I had money to burn like Stanford....I still would NOT spend it this way.

What would you study if Stanford gave you five years and $250,000 to do it?
