Some of Colorado State University's 674 parking meters had a flaw.
The meters confused older pennies, those made before 1982, with quarters.
Consequently, students were able to park 30 minutes for a penny.
I wonder who first thought to try a penny to see if it worked. And then when it did work, how did the word get around?
Anyway, campus police finally caught on when a bus load of pennies started showing up in the meters, but only after the campus newspaper reported on the glitch.
So, it was a student journalist who spoiled all the 'fun' for his/her classmates.![]()
The tipster - "Since I'm graduating, I figured it's my duty to pass on some knowledge."
Yeah, right. Let me share with you how I have been cheating the system while here at CSU.
Students said that they tried to keep the secret
among a select few.Yeah, good luck with that!
Tell a student how to study more effectively or remember something more easily, and s/he doesn't care.
Tell them how to cheat, and watch their ears perk up.
Did you ever cheat when you were in school?
