Less than one third (32.9%) of students in the 12 universities in Beijing responded positively to having an HIV carrier as a classmate.
Almost one in four (23%) said 'No Way!'
7% said that carriers should not even be permitted in schools while 31% said they should be allowed in with certain restrictions.
4% said HIV carriers should not be allowed to work and 43% said if they are working, there should be some restrictions.![]()
Still three fourths of students say they would take part, voluntarily in activities to prevent AIDS and promote knowledge about the disease.
Yet...just shaking hands with a carrier is considered a challenge and when accomplished a major breakthrough....even they know the disease cannot be contracted by this kind of contact.
How about you? Would you mind if one or some of your classmates was HIV positive? How do you know there isn't one?
