I guess bears have the right away in Georgia.
A 300 lb black bear happened upon a man and his three sons at the Low Gap Camp Grounds in Helen, GA.
The bear...hungry, I reckon...decided to make off with the cooler.
As the bear was heading back towards the woods, the 6-year old threw a shovel at it.
"Make sure you bury your trash!"
When, pop, an ex-Marine feared the worse (no dinner that evening? for the bear?) he picked up a log and hurled it at the bear hitting the bear in the head and killing it.
Wrong!
The man was given a ticket for not securing his camp site and now must answer to the federal government since the incident happened on federal property.
Lesson learned - "The key thing to
learn from this is if there's a bear around, do not have your garbage or food available," said the ranger.Uh....should the family climb inside the cooler to eat? Or just not bring any food with them on their camping trip?
