In the coming months, here at TBOK, I plan to publish a series of essays, my own, that I have written and am writing around the themes "How I learned ..." to pray, to hate, to forgive, handling snakes can change my life, the meaning of freedom, that prostitutes have feelings, too and so on.
It is one thing to read the news and wonder what's up, to make a comment, ask a question or just be befuddled by the world and sometimes the idiocy that goes on...aka Wisdumbs.
It is another for me to put myself out there, to reflect on the lessons I have learned in life...on my own...through the school of hard knocks...when I was little....now that I am old....in the states...in the military....overseas....as a son.....as a dad....a husband...a fool....an athlete....a slob....a loser...and sometimes a winner.
It is my philosophy that blog posts should be readable in less than a minute. Some people like them longer. I don't. Consequently, any one essay will be published over the course of days, sometimes weeks, in 30 secs to 1 minute bite size pieces....think about 200ish words.
I will not split the posts. This is for the benefit of those kind enough to subscribe to my blog. A big thank you!
I will, however, also continue to write many of the same kinds of posts that I have in the past....and, as always, I welcome suggestions.
Thanks again for reading.
The first essay...."How I learned to pray..."
It begins like this -
“What would you expect a person’s life to be like if they grew up there? That house is spooky.”
