How often should a baby be bathed?
Leave it to the mother or grandmother and the baby would be constantly on the other end of a wipe.
In notoriously whats-a-shower Britain, 60% of babies are bathed every day, 20% every other day and 19% the 2-3 times/week as recommended by doctors.
Babies' skin is five times thinner than adults and bathing them too often can cause skin problems such as eczema and rashes, say expert.![]()
Babies don't get germs until they start crawling. Of course, if you like to roll your newborn around on the floor...then you might want to increase the frequency.
Even so....in the East, shoes are not worn in the house keeping the floor clean as well.
Wipes, used by 60% of mothers are used too much.
Another European study - babies exposed to chemicals in swimming pools ere 50% more likely to report wheezing, four times more likely to have chest tightness and two times more like to experience shortness of breath....perhaps causing asthma problems later in life.
Moral...keep the babies out of the water.
There should be instructions imprinted on babies ... dry clean regularly, wash only as necessary.
