Chances are if your kid gets too much caffeine, you will be taking more than two steps...running them down and so.
It happens.
While you gab, s/he slurps away at the soda.
I've said this before...don't let the kid EVER like to drink soda. They won't miss anything.
But, when it happens...
1. Do nothing. Pediatricians have a saying "Don't just do something. Stand there!."
Caffeine is a diuretic. Within four to five hours, sometimes four to five very very long hours, and it will be out of their system.
You let them have it, now they will let you have it.
2. Avoid other sources of caffeine - chocolate, more soda, tea, even pain relievers.
Or, you might want to have some in hopes of just keeping up until your busy one settles down.
When was the last time your kid had too much caffeine?
What did you do?
