Japanese school teachers are sexually harassing their students.

The number of cases has exceeded 100 for six consecutive years.

In a country where it is embarrassing to talk about such things, chances are the number of unreported cases is much much larger than the 100+ that are known.

There are two types of sexual harassment - 

1. displaying offensive material

2. pursuing sexual relationships by taking advantage of authority.

Teachers can be guilty of other types -

"-- Forcing a child to sit on the teacher's lap against the child's will.

-- Taking a child's clothes off to punish him or her for forgetting something at home.

-- Watching children change their clothes or while they

-- Making fun of a child's body shape.

-- Touching children's hands or leaning over them while teaching them how to use computers."

I think if I ever go back to the classroom, I will just teach with my hands in my pockets while looking up at the ceiling the whole time.

Come to think of it, I had some teachers like that when I was growing up.
