If you smoke...there is a real good chance that your kids will, too.
I have a wonderful nephew, with good horse sense...but...he smokes...like both of his parents.
My younger son tried it for a while but gave up. I only talked to him once about it, after someone else had caught him doing it.
I pointed out that he, being an athlete, was only hurting himself and his chances at success in his sport - swimming. He gave it up.

1. Listening to your kids
2. Show them you care and are not judgemental![]()
3. Talk to
them, don't lecture.4. Establish consequences
5. Talk about it often - from when they are 1st graders is not too young.
Point out why smoking is bad. Show the disgusting nature of the habit. Have your youngsters talk to someone who was hurt by smoking.
First and foremost...give up the habit yourself.
Kids want to be like their parents.
Why do you smoke?
