Kids get excited, too. Okay, that's an understatement.

When things are happening, they don't want to miss out..trips to grandma's, all day with Mickey Mouse or playing at the beach.

Problem is ...kids get cranky. We adults do, so why not them.

The docs at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta recommend:

1. turn down the lights

2. close the shades

3. get out a favorite stuffed animal....or transformer...or Godzilla 

4. snuggle with them (Danger! danger!)

5. give them a warm bath

6. chill in front of the TV while watching something lighthearted and mellow or read them a book.

Next thing you know...either your kid will be asleep or you will be and that will make things a little bit better.
