I am glad this guy didn't come to my house last night before he wrote up his report.
He would have seen my son put away a whole bag of Mint Creme Oreo Cookies...the whole bag...and I helped?
He is 6' 3" and weighs about 180lbs. My other son is a 6' 2" swimming and eating machine.
Unfortunately...I help average them out with my 50-year old mid-life spread and then some.
Americans are getting fatter and fatter ....we knew that.
But, did we know that we are getting there (fatland) faster, too?
But, how much fatter?
The median rate is now increasing at 0.8%/year. It was increasing at
0.3% 30 years ago. So, not only are Americans getting fatter, they are getting fatter faster.By 2015, 75% of American adults will be overweight and 41% of them will be OBESE.
One in eight Americans were obese in the 1960s. One in three are obese now.
The fastest to the fattest are women between the ages of 20-24.
The fattest are black women - 80% of women over 40 are overweight and half of them are obese.
Asians are still the slimmest...but...U.S. born Asians are FOUR TIMES more likely to be obese than Asian nationals.
Americans really are eating themselves to death and the health costs that we ALL face are paying for it.
