The seventh book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," is setting sales records.
Add one bought by my son yesterday. We are driving across country and it may take that long for him to finish it.
The book sold 11 million copies in its first 24 hours ...or about 127 books a second in just two markets alone.
US sales were 8.3 million.
Britain sold 2.7 million.
Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble had pre-orders of more than 1 million books. ![]()
Reveiws of the book are universally glowing, despite 'spoilers' including these 10 here.
that apparently turned out to be true.
The book proved to be a tad bit too popular because
people stayed home to read instead of going to the movie theater to see "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix."Imagine that, kids wanting to stay home and read instead of going to the movies.
Maybe Harry Potter can do powerful magic.
Are you a reader or a movie goer?
