When my kids were young, we used to take them to see different things...venues where they could see people exceling at what they did...body building, ice skating, concerts, sports, and so on. We were careful to point out that if they tried hard at something they love, they could achieve big things, too.
One boy received a four-year athletic scholarship, the other is an accomplished award winning classical pianist and aspiring artist.
I am not perfect...nor are my kids. I know that. That's not the point.
I came across an article that gave suggestions on how you might tell if you have a baby Tiger Woods in the house...or even a Michelle Wie.
1. Giving the little ones a club and a ball to hit...yeah, outside.
2. Find a family friendly course...think putt-putt sometimes
3. Make it
fun...They gotta love what they are doing...most of the time at least.4. Show them role models...on the tube, in person, whereever whenever you can.
Karl Malone once said, "I used to watch sports stars on video, now people watch me."
Maybe there is a baby Tiger or Michelle in your home.
What do your kids like to play?
