Chinese university students are no longer permitted to live off campus.
China's Ministry of education has issued a notice "to make the dormitories 'another front for political and ideological education' in order to create a 'good climate for the students'' growth.'"
The action is meant to also :
1. provide for the safety of the students
2. facilitate communication between students and administration
3. make it easier to monitor students' lifestyles outside of the classroom.
Students are now required to share rooms with 4-8 persons per room.
